Saji was born in an ancient, nominal Christian home in Kerala, South India. Each person in the family faced severe struggles as a result of their disobedience to God’s commands. As Satan’s grip on the Lukos family grew stronger, Saji saw that his own life was completely void of peace and purpose. Then God sent a native evangelist to present the claims of Jesus Christ to Saji. In 1979, at the age of twenty, Saji accepted Christ as his personal Savior and Lord.
Saji’s family did not share his new joy, however. They persecuted and finally expelled him from home. But God in His sovereignty used Saji’s witness and faith to deliver all members of the family from Satan’s hands to the Savior’s kingdom. Today, all of the family members are serving Christ in various parts of India. To hear more about Saji’s background and conversion story, broadcast by Pacific Garden Mission (UnShackled Oct 2003) visit the Resources section of our website. Saji’s story has also appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald and various radio stations and magazines.
Saji has a Master’s degree in business from University of Kerala, India, a Master of Divinity (missions) from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, and a doctorate in ministry from Bethel University, in St. Paul, MN. His doctoral thesis title is: Transforming Indian Communities: An Innovative Educational and Ministry Model. Although Saji started as an accountant by choice, the irresistible will of God has transformed him into a servant and witness of the Gospel. Saji and his wife Mony responded to God’s call for reaching Indians in India and worldwide by founding Reaching Indian Ministries International (RIMI) in the USA and Mission India (MI) based in Nagpur, Central India.
Today RIMI has over 1,600 missionaries involved in 12,000 house churches, a major seminary (Mission India Theological Seminary: mits-india.org), 30 regional Bible colleges, and many other compassion and justice programs including Mission India Hospital, Mission India Community College and English medium schools. Around 2,000 children are being care for through our Mercy Homes and Child Development Centers.
In contrast to the pluralistic culture of India, Saji is now proclaiming the uniqueness of Christ and sharing the vision of RIMI in churches, schools, colleges, universities, seminaries and business men’s fellowships worldwide. Saji is available to preach and teach at your ministry events such as missions conferences, evangelistic meetings, leadership conferences and much more.
Saji and his wife Mony make their home in Round Lake Beach, IL, a northern suburb of Chicago (45 minutes north of O’Hare Airport). They have one child – a daughter Maryann (1993) who is married to Raymond Woods and they live in Chicago, IL.
