Mickie has served as a Christian Educator for over 40 years, always focusing on the joy of working with children and their parents. She served in churches in the greater Chicagoland area and in Scotland before coming to Connecticut in 2012. Mickie was the Executive Director of Children’s Ministries of America and enjoyed traveling all over the US planning and conducting educational conferences.
Mickie graduated with Masters degrees from Aberdeen University (Philosophy) and Trinity Seminary (Religious Education). She is the author of “Workshop Wonders” a book about creative teaching methodologies used by churches around the country. Her most recent adventures include traveling to India to teach Bible College and Seminary students with RIMI. She is also part of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians.
Mickie and her husband, David, have a blended family of six children and 11 grandchildren. They both love traveling, singing in choirs and are avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fans. On Sunday afternoons in the Fall, you can often find them after church at the local Irish Pub dressed in Bears Jersey’s, eating burgers and screaming at the TV.
