Barbara is the Event Coordinator for RIMI. Born and raised in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, she was exposed to the church at the age of 5 and immediately fell in love with Jesus. Wanting to become part of the family of God, she spent the next 8 years attending Sunday School, memorizing many bible verses to win awards. Young friends from her church discouraged her, however, stating she was a heathen, and not one of the “elect,” since her parents did not attend church.
This did not keep her from reading her Bible and praying. Finally, at the age of 31, she heard Jill Briscoe speak at a women’s conference where it appeared that Jill looked right at her and said, “God loves YOU.” That changed her heart and she immediately joined a bible believing church and committed her life to Christ. Through the years her hunger for the Word has just increased. The past few years she has been leading a women’s Bible study at NorthBridge Church in Antioch, IL, where she has her own “Bible Bunch” who spend each week studying God’s Word and sharing how the Holy Spirit has brought enlightenment to each of them. Her passion is to encourage women of all ages to be in the Word.
Barbara, who has lived in Wisconsin for the past 27 years, has been the wife of Tom for almost 43 years, the mother of four daughters, mother in law to four sons in law and “Nana” to eleven of the most amazing grandchildren in the world. Barbara considers herself abundantly blessed to be serving at RIMI and grateful for this opportunity to serve her God in this way.
Her favorite verse is: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight” from Proverbs 3:5-6.
